Excellent HR Leader Award

Mr Wilfred Wong Kam Pui, BBS, JP

Mr Wilfred WONG Kam Pui, BBS, JP, is the Founder and Managing Director of RESOLUTIONS HR & Business Consultancy Company Limited, principally engaged in human resources, business solutions and consultancy services. Previously, he had been working for Standard Chartered Bank, Cathay Pacific Airways, and DFS Group Limited. Since mid-2020, he has been engaged by the CityU Dongguan Campus Office as a part-time Human Resources Advisor (Dongguan).

Mr Wong obtained a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in business administration from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He is a Beta Gamma Sigma International Society Life-time Member and was appointed BGS CUHK Chapter Honoree in 2002. He is a Fellow Member of the Hong Kong Institute of Human Resource Management and has been its council member for the last two decades, during which he was elected its President between 2008 and 2010. He has also been a Full Member of the Hong Kong Computer Society since 1990s.

Mr Wong has been appointed by HKSAR Government to many government bodies and committees, either as chairman or committee member. He was appointed a Justice of the Peace by HKSAR Government in 2015, and awarded the Bronze Bauhinia Star (BBS) in 2020.

Psychological Services Group, Hong Kong Police Force

"Decoding Social Unrest for Tideriders” (DUST) - Resilience Programme for Police Officers

Hong Kong Police met with unprecedented challenges during the social unrest in 2019 and the resultant launch of Operation TIDERIDER.  While law and order have gradually been restored, its officers still hold lots of emotions and puzzles relating to the social unrest. The Psychological Services Group therefore launched a new programme “Decoding Social Unrest for Tideriders” (DSUT /知己知彼) in May 2020 to facilitate officers’ resilience and reaffirm their mission and professionalism in law enforcement.

“Swire Properties’ Sustainable Development 2030 Strategy”

Swire Properties develops and manages commercial, retail, hotel and residential properties, with a particular focus on mixed-use developments in Hong Kong and the Chinese Mainland, and also has investments in the United States and Southeast Asia.

In 2016, Swire Properties introduced its SD 2030 vision and developed a SD 2030 Strategy around five pillars which integrate into every facet of its business to achieve the vision to be the leading sustainable development performer in its industry globally by 2030.

Today, McDonald’s operates more than 240 restaurants with over 15,000 committed staff, serving one million customers every day. People are always considered to be the most important asset of the company and McDonald’s has always been renowned as a “People Business serving Hamburgers rather than a Hamburger Business serving People.” McDonald’s Hong Kong believes that only happy employees can bring happiness to customers.  As such, we formulated and implemented a series of employee engagement initiatives for our employees to enrich their lives.

The Hong Kong Police Force (HKPF) strives to maintain Hong Kong as one of the safest and most stable societies in the world.  Amid the shrinkage in the local workforce, the HKPF experienced other unprecedented recruitment challenges in the past few years.  The HKPF therefore has spared no effort to adopt different strategies to manage the changes in both recruitment and socio-demographic situations. The HKPF also endeavours to surmount the recruitment challenges in order to sustain its productivity.

“Together we Advance”

The Electrical and Mechanical Services Department (EMSD) is dedicated to ensuring public E&M safety through regulatory services and providing excellent E&M engineering services to government departments and the Hospital Authority.  The EMSD is also the technology pioneer and innovation facilitator within the government, contributing significantly to smart city development. The EMSD fully counts on its 6000+ people.  To excel in staff engagement, the EMSD launched “Together we Advance 攜手同行” project in the last two years.  Both customer and staff satisfaction reached new peaks.

APAC Wellbeing Strategy Supporting the Power of One Team Campaign

Herbalife Nutrition, a global nutrition company, has been changing people’s lives with great nutrition products and business opportunities for its independent distributors in 95 markets since 1980. The company’s APAC Wellbeing Strategy implemented in 2019 under APAC Power of One Team Campaign helped drive healthier and happier mindset among employees. The COVID-19 pandemic accelerated the offering of more innovative wellbeing initiatives - evolved from traditional channels into adopting modern technology and digital tools to support our multicultural and multigeneration workforce.

The Airport Authority Hong Kong (AA) is responsible for the operation and development of Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) with the supportof over 2,600 employees.  AA has its vision to develop HKIA into a smart airport to improve passengers’ experience and optimise airport operations through the application of technology.  To support the company’s vision, HR has driven digitalisation in key functions since August 2019 to enrich employee experience, enhance work efficiency and support staff’s long-term development with remarkable success.

“All-in-One Enterprise Learning and Sharing Platform"

Nurturing its staff is one of the missions of the Urban Renewal Authority (URA). It developed its own all-in-one enterprise learning management and knowledge exchange platform to safeguard URA’s critical knowledge and unique project experience, enrich staff’s learning experience and automate the training administration for better operational efficiency and manpower analysis.  The Learning Platform was launched during the COVID-pandemic period, offering a flexible and seamless learning experience for all staff regardless of their work locations.

The Green Monday ESG Coalition is an alliance to unify businesses with concrete plant-based solutions to rebuild a more sustainable and resilient future. Green Monday has partnered with Great Eagle Group to launch a series of ESG performance-driving initiatives, including the Plant-Based Culinary Arts Academy. Named to Fortune’s 2020 “Change the World” list, Green Monday Group was founded in 2012 in Hong Kong SAR with the vision to “Make Change Happen, Make Green Common”.

JCI’s Journey with Ramco of Building a Future Workplace”

Ramco has been revolutionising payroll transformation in large corporations across 60+ countries on its single platform. Built using technologies like RPA, AI and ML, the product provides a high degree of automation and its innovations reinvent payroll.  

Ramco’s project focuses on how its customer Johnson Controls International leveraged Ramco’s AI-based Chatbot & Self-Explaining Payslip to enhance employee experience through personalised query-responses and established an automated helpdesk across 14 countries that could respond to 80% of queries in the language of choice.

In driving the “Smart Urban Renewal” work, the Urban Renewal Authority (URA) decided in 2016 to build a Geographic Information System (GIS) based system, named the Urban Renewal Information System (URIS).  In addition to creating the system, the URA embarked on the journey to become a data-driven organisation with an IT-savvy workforce.  The customised in-house training programme starting from 2019 sharpened our staff’s mindset for change and groomed them to become Location Intelligence talents.
